THE EXPERIENCE

Enjoy an all-day steam excursion on Father’s Day weekend featuring the historic Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive No. 765!

These round-trip excursions will treat passengers to a summer train ride from Edon, Ohio, through Northeast Indiana, and into Southeastern Michigan for a three-hour layover in the historic downtown of Hillsdale on Saturday and Sunday.

Departing at 9:00 AM, the train will arrive in town for lunch, where passengers can enjoy a meal and explore the area on their own. Shuttles will be provided to assist guests in traveling to each downtown area, and many businesses will have special operating hours to cater exclusively to train passengers.

With a scheduled departure at 2:30 PM, the train will return to Edon at approximately 6:30 PM. A photo runby is planned on the return trip, allowing guests to photograph and film the train at speed. All trains include onboard entertainment, open vestibules, and our open-air souvenir car. This 96-mile trip will be steam-powered in all directions.

This event is a fundraiser operated by the volunteers of the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. Your patronage supports our ongoing rail preservation and community enrichment efforts.

THE OFFERINGS

Deluxe Coach, Open Window, First Class, and Private Car tickets are available for this excursion. Children three years of age and younger who do not occupy a seat ride free in Deluxe Coach only. All tickets are individually priced unless specifically referenced or otherwise marked as Couples, Table, Couch, Suite, etc. ADA-specific seats are available in Deluxe Coach only.

Select First Class tickets include complimentary coffee and light refreshments. Additional amenities are included where listed. A cash bar is available for responsible guests 21 years of age or older.

Guests riding aboard the Kitchi Gammi Club will enjoy a Pullman breakfast prepared and served on board by our executive chef.

Passengers may bring their own personal food and non-alcoholic drinks. Pets are not permitted, but service animals are welcome.

Passengers wishing to travel together should book their tickets as part of the same reservation and under the same name. Refunds or exchanges are only available 30 days or more before travel. In place of refunds, credits for future travel and experiences are offered. Due to their historic nature, only select cars are ADA accessible.
